When I first was looking at buying a Super Strat I wasn't sure which brand to look at. I found it daunting as there are so many to choose from - ESP, Charvel, Schecter, Jackson, Hamer, Dean and many many more. I finally levelled it down to Ibanez from things I read from forums, reviews, the looks, the reputation, the branding with the all the star players and the fact that they were easily available. But even then, with so many models in the Ibanez range it still was a confusing choice.
I definitely wanted a model that had 24 frets and humbuckers.Well, OK that narrowed it down to pretty much ALL the models! Should I buy an inexpensive model and drop in some third party pickups, should I upgrade my budget a little and buy the Prestige or should I got the whole hog and blow the budget on the pricey Signature range? Even still I couldn’t choose from the S series or Ibanez RG series guitar. After even more web research I finally settled on a Ibanez RG1570 mainly because it had a single coil as well as the Edge PRO whammy bar.
The reviews and forum posts about the guitar were helpful but most things were one paragraph reviews or just one liners and scattered all over the Web. I thought I'd do a whole website with some really comprehensive reviews, a break down of each component and photos of the Ibanez RG1570, to show anyone considering buying this guitar its secrets, strengths and weaknesses. Now after spending sometime with it I can give you my impressions of this guitar and hope this website can help anyone narrow down their choice of guitars. If you already own a Ibanez RG Prestige or any other similar model I hope you will also find some interesting articles too.
I’ve been playing for well over ten years on and off and quite frankly still suck! I don’t claim to be an expert in guitars and like most, am learning as I go. So I’ll just stick to the gear and not so much the lessons ;). This website has helped me greatly improve my knowledge and understanding. Just remember, you don't have to be a pro to enjoy the guitar. Play it for own enjoyment. The guy that invented the biggest selling electric guitar of all time was a radio technician not a luthier.
