Ibanez Tube Screamer TSA15H Practice Amp Head

The Ibanez Tube Screamer Amp TSA15H is an interesting amp and features a Tube Screamer circuit built into the front end, for all the warm tube overdrive punch and crunch. This practice amp appears to be based off the TS-808 pedal and uses the same dark green on the amp as found on the stompbox. The amp head is dressed in a contrasting white tolex. The is a respectable 15 watter using 12AX7 tubes for the Preamp and 6V6 tubes for the Power section. At the rear the practice amp is switchable from 15 watts to 5 watts. Ibanez also include an effects loop which is in general uncommon on these low watt amps. The TSA15H head is priced at $299.99.

A matching half open back is equipped with an 80 Watts at 8 ohms, 1x12 inch Celestion Seventy80 Speaker for $199.99. An Ibanez IFS2G 2-Button Latching Footswitch with LEDs is also available in matching green for $34.95. TSA112C speaker cabinet and IFS2G footswitch are sold separately.

Ibanez aren’t new to amp building but their amps don’t usually get much prominence. Even Ibanez’s entourage players tend to avoid them. A case in point Satriani uses the Peavey JSX and more recently the Marshall JVM’s, while Vai is associated with Carvin. The Tube Screamer amp could turn the tide for Ibanez. This appears to be a great deal given the classic Ibanez TS-808 pedal alone will set you back $179.99, an Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer is $99.99.
