Jet City PicoValve Practice Amp Head

Jet City Amplifications PicoValve is another foray into the world of low wattage practice amps. If it looks familiar, it should. It’s designed by Seattle based Andy Marshall CEO of THD Electronics fame and licensed to Jet City Amplification. THD are well known for their Hot Plate Attenuator. The Jet City PicoValve shares a similar grill cage to the THD UniValve Amplifier.

But don't let the tiny stature fool you with this micro practice amp. When they said keep it low wattage I think Andy Marshall took that to heart and created this 5 watt puppy that even does a ½ power mode. The Jet City Picovalve is cute but can let loose into a blizzard of overdrive.  A set of 2x 12AX7 for the Preamp and 1x 6L6 tubes for the Power section boost this toaster along. The PicoValve retails for $299.99. Similarly a THD UniValve 15W Class A Amplifier Head will set you back $999.99.
