Orange Tiny Terror Practice Amp Head

The Orange Tiny Terror TT15 is the portable lunchbox micro practice amp that started it all. With its vintage British charm and colossal tonal range the Tiny Terror has literally frightened the boutique and mass produced amp world into playing catch up. Since 2006 the series has evolved into several deviations and Orange Amplification now offers the following:

  • Tiny Terror Head (the original one)
  • Tiny Terror Combo
  • Dual Terror
  • Tiny Terror Hard Wired Edition

The original is a 15 watt Class A guitar amp with a two stage preamp using 2 x 12AX7 and 2 x EL84’s valves for the power stage. The TT also provides a front toggle switchable to 7 watts Class A output. The Tiny Terrors interface is sparse but functional having just a Volume, Tone and Gain. A simple mains On/Off and Standby toggle switch also adorns the panel. Around the back you’ll find three speaker outputs - 2 x 8 ohm and one 16 ohm jack. All this is enclosed in a 1.5 mm Zintec chassis with a steel vented top case. A cute padded gig bag is also included. The Tiny Terror Head retails for $575.00.

Orange PPC112 60W 1x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet

There are several cabinet choices in the Orange range but the one most likely to be mated with the Tiny Terror is the Orange Amplifiers PPC Series PPC112 60W 1x12 guitar speaker cabinet. This is loaded with a Celestion Vintage 30 speaker housed in an 18mm Plywood cab. The Celestion Vintage 30 speaker recreates the sound of the original Celestion Blue using a ‘H’ magnet (the closest in performance to Alnico) with a new cone and voice coil employing contemporary materials. The Orange PPC112 cabinet sells for $369.00.

The iconic tone purportedly comes from Orange Designer Adrian Emsley endeavour to capture the tone of the first three AC/DC albums. So rather calling it an amp with a British character should this be called an Australian one?
