Vox Night Train Practice Amp Head

The Vox Night Train is the legendary U.K’s companies answer to the Orange Tiny Terror. Like the Terror the Night Train is an extremely portable toaster that features bags of tone and vibe. Housed in an industrial chic metal grille cased body, the amp seats two 12AX7 valves in the preamp stage while a pair of EL84 tubes does the chiming duties of the power section.

An OP Mode toggle switch transforms the from full 15 watts Class A/B Pentode mode to a smooth 7.5 watts Triode Mode. The Gain, Treble, Middle, Bass and Volume and a Power LED are supplied with some nice retro chicken foot knobs. For the insane knob twiddler a BRIGHT/THICK toggle allows for some more pitch stalking goodness. The BRIGHT mode bumps the high frequency for that classic ringing Vox tone whereas the THICK bypasses the tone and EQ circuit and adds gain for a meatier, aggressive, fat sound.

Vox Night Train

The Vox Night Train is based on the classic Vox AC15 valve arrangement so it will come as no surprise to effortlessly get from The Beatles to U2 and back. Add a Memory Man analog delay and you are in Edge country or bump up the gain for some Angus Young duck walking. Round the back the Night Train comes with both an 8 ohm and 16 ohm speaker jacks to add virtually any extension cabinet.

Vox Night Train 112 Cabinet – V112NT

The V112NT complimenting speaker cabinet lets the Night Train blend into the lounge like an art deco furniture piece. It is beautifully crafted gray tolex with white piping, rounded trim and black grille cloth is a perfect match for the Vox Night Train’s chrome metal casing. The V112NT cab is armed with a custom voiced 1x12” 16 ohm Vox Celestion G12M 'Greenback' speaker. Its 24.2 lbs weight and compact size is an exercise in transportability. The Night Train head also includes a padded custom carry case making this pairing the definitive luggage amp.
